Heavy-duty or "severe duty" use — towing, plowing, frequent full-load hauling — pulls these intervals in even tighter. If your van sits idling on a job site for hours at a time, treat idle hours like extra miles when judging when it's due.

Don't wait for the next scheduled interval if you notice:

Rough or uneven idle
Delayed or hard shifting
Vehicle pulling to one side under braking
